Pakistan, Saudi Arabia condemn US strikes on Iran nuclear sites
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have issued strong statements condemning the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities
ISLAMABAD / RIYADH (MNTV) — Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have issued strong statements condemning the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, warning of the severe implications of escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the country “condemns the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities which follow the series of attacks by Israel. We are gravely concerned at the possible further escalation of tensions in the region.”
“We reiterate that these attacks violate all norms of international law and that Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself under the UN Charter,” the statement read.
Pakistan emphasized the urgent need for restraint to prevent further violence and underscored the importance of protecting civilian lives and property.
“The unprecedented escalation of tension and violence, owing to ongoing aggression against Iran, is deeply disturbing. Any further escalation of tensions will have severely damaging implications for the region and beyond,” the ministry said.
Pakistan called for adherence to international law, particularly International Humanitarian Law, and urged all parties to resolve the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy under the principles of the UN Charter.
Saudi Arabia also expressed “deep concern” over the strikes, reaffirming its condemnation of violations of Iran’s sovereignty as stated in an earlier June 13 declaration.
“The Kingdom reaffirms the contents of its statement issued on June 13, 2025, in which it condemned and denounced the violation of the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Saudi Foreign ministry said in a statement.
“The Kingdom underscores the need to exert all possible efforts to exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions, and avoid further escalation,” it further added.
The Kingdom called on the international community to intensify efforts to broker a political solution that could end the crisis and foster stability in the region.
These statements come as global leaders and organizations voice alarm over the U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran, warning of the potential for a broader conflict in an already volatile region.
Qatar echoed similar concerns, expressing “regret over the deterioration of the situation” and warning of “catastrophic consequences at the regional and international levels.”
Doha called for the immediate cessation of military operations and a return to dialogue.
