Pakistan PM declares victory against India
Shehbaz Sharif hails military’s response, credits diplomacy, and emphasizes unity for Pakistan’s future.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (MNTV) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared a “historic success” following a ceasefire agreement with India after days of escalating tensions and cross-border skirmishes.
In a televised address, Sharif praised Pakistan’s military, acknowledged international mediation, and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peace and progress.
“We have given a positive response to a ceasefire in the interest of regional peace and for the sake of millions of lives,” he said, attributing the agreement to Pakistan’s principles and resilience.
Sharif highlighted the military’s professionalism in countering what he described as failed Indian strikes on military installations and water reserves.
“This is a victory of our principles, respect, and unity—not just for our armed forces but for the entire nation,” he declared.
The Prime Minister also commended Pakistan’s air force, claiming successful targeting of Indian military assets. “Their Rafales were intercepted and neutralized by our jets,” he added, asserting that Indian depots and bases suffered significant losses.
Sharif extended gratitude to international allies, including the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations, for their role in brokering peace.
“Diplomacy averted further escalation,” he emphasized, underscoring the importance of global partnerships.
Domestically, Sharif lauded the military leadership, naming Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza, COAS Gen. Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, and Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf for their efforts.
He also praised media professionals and digital activists for countering misinformation, describing their actions as a model for future information warfare.
The Prime Minister celebrated political unity during the crisis, thanking allied government parties and opposition leaders for their solidarity.
“You have shown the world that Pakistan is a self-respecting nation where honor outweighs life,” he said.
Looking forward, Sharif struck an optimistic tone about Pakistan’s future.
“We will channel this unity towards achieving prosperity and reclaiming our rightful place among global powers,” he stated.
He urged the nation to embrace hard work, expressing confidence that Pakistan’s resilience and determination would astonish the world.
