Nouakchott hosts Morocco Week to strengthen ties with Mauritania
Economic and cultural event celebrates shared heritage, boosts bilateral cooperation
NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania (MNTV) – Mauritania is hosting Morocco Week from April 24 to 30, a major economic and cultural event showcasing Morocco’s rich heritage while reinforcing historic ties with Mauritania, organizers announced.
The event, co-organized by the Moroccan Embassy, the Mountada Al Janoub association, and key government and business institutions from both countries, aims to enhance trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
It features exhibitions, B2B and B2G meetings, and conferences on energy transition and bilateral cooperation.
“This week celebrates the deep-rooted brotherhood between Morocco and Mauritania,” the press release stated, highlighting the event’s role in promoting Morocco’s industries—including construction, digital, pharmaceuticals, and textiles—through dedicated showcases.
Visitors will experience Morocco’s cultural and culinary heritage, with immersive displays of traditional crafts, authentic cuisine, and local products.
Key partners include Mauritania’s Ministry of Commerce and Tourism, Morocco’s State Secretariat for Foreign Trade, and business federations like the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
“Morocco Week reflects our shared commitment to strengthening economic and cultural bonds,” organizers emphasized, framing the event as a step toward deeper regional collaboration.
The festivities conclude April 30, with expectations of new partnerships and heightened cross-border engagement.
