Kyrgyzstan launches month-long campaign ahead of International Disability Day
Government urges nationwide participation to promote accessibility, equality, and public awareness from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (MNTV) — Kyrgyzstan has launched “We Are Together!”, a month-long campaign promoting compassion, inclusion, and support for people with disabilities ahead of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Dec. 3, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration announced Friday.
Running from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, the initiative stems from a government resolution mandating annual observances dedicated to the rights and well-being of children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
Officials said the campaign aims to raise nationwide awareness of disability rights, expand opportunities for full participation in public life, and encourage the growth of inclusive programs across the country.
Under the directive, ministries, state agencies, and local governments are required to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of physical ability, as they organize activities marking the month.
“This month is not just a series of events, but an important step toward creating an inclusive society where every person feels valued and protected,” the ministry said in a statement.
The government called on public institutions, businesses, community groups, and citizens to join the effort, demonstrate support for people with disabilities, and help foster a more accessible environment throughout the Kyrgyz Republic.
