Kremlin welcomes Trump’s Gaza peace plan
The Kremlin welcomed U.S. President Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan, saying it hopes the initiative will help restore peace in the region
MOSCOW, Russia (MNTV) – The Kremlin has welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, saying it hopes the initiative will help restore peace in the region.
“Russia always supports and welcomes any efforts by Trump that aim to prevent the tragedy that is currently unfolding,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
He added, “We hope this plan will be implemented, so that it will help bring events in the Middle East to a peaceful course.”
Peskov emphasized that Moscow maintains contact with all parties in the conflict and is ready to assist if necessary, but noted that Russia was not involved in drafting the plan and had received no approach from Washington.
Trump unveiled his proposal at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The plan calls for the release of Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, the disarmament of Hamas, a phased Israeli withdrawal, and the creation of a technocratic Palestinian governing body.
Separately, Peskov criticized reports of plans to build a “drone wall” along the EU’s eastern border, calling it a reflection of Europe’s “militaristic attitude” toward Russia.
“Building walls is always a bad thing, as history shows,” he said, adding that the move stemmed from Ukraine’s “confrontational policy.”
