The National Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday was held at the National Mall in Washington, DC.
Kites bearing Palestinian flags were flown in support of Palestine at the festival, where they garnered significant public interest.
The annual celebration commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC.
It spans four weeks and welcomes more than one million people.
This year, it began on March 20 and will end April 14.
