Israeli strikes kill 50 Palestinians, devastate city, hospitals, and families
Families targeted after rejecting Israeli offers, hospitals and refugee camps under attack
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) – Israeli strikes have killed at least 50 Palestinians and wounded 184 others in the past 24 hours, according to Palestinian Health Ministry.
Since Monday dawn alone, 33 people have been confirmed dead, most of them in Gaza City where Israel has intensified its campaign to seize control of the city.
Medical workers told Anadolu that civil defense teams retrieved 10 bodies from beneath the rubble of Al-Nasr Street.
Four others were killed when an air strike tore through a tent sheltering displaced families in western Gaza City.
Residents described scenes of “total destruction,” with bodies trapped under collapsed concrete. Drop Site quoted hospital officials as saying emergency crews are overwhelmed and often unable to reach targeted areas.
The Shati refugee camp has been under sustained assault for days, with Israeli forces detonating booby-trapped vehicles and carrying out air and artillery strikes. Dozens of civilians have been killed there.
“The attacks are part of a clear plan to fully occupy the camp and crush any resistance,” Drop Site reported, citing local sources.
Hospitals remain a central target. Health Ministry confirmed that Al-Helou Hospital was hit with two missiles, blocking all entry and exit. “This is not the first time Israeli forces have targeted hospitals,” said Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the ministry’s media office.
“It is part of a systematic effort to paralyze medical services.” Drop Site added that at least 38 hospitals have been destroyed or forced out of service since October 2023, along with 96 health centers and nearly 200 ambulances.
The United Nations’ Site Management Cluster reported that more than 57,000 Palestinians fled south between Sept. 23–27 as the offensive on Gaza City escalated.
Since mid-August, nearly 400,000 large-scale displacements have been documented. “This is one of the most rapid forced population movements we have monitored in recent conflicts,” the cluster said in remarks published by Drop Site.
Human rights groups warn of a new pattern of reprisals against families who reject Israeli offers to cooperate.
According to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, the Bakr family in al-Shati camp was approached by Israeli forces and told they could stay in their homes if they formed a militia against Hamas.
When they refused, air strikes leveled their houses the following day, killing at least nine, including children. Similar attacks killed at least 60 people from the Dairi and Daghmash families. Drop Site quoted rights monitors describing the practice as “collective punishment on a devastating scale.”
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said it has evacuated 190 patients in coordination with the World Health Organization, but access to care remains almost impossible for most. “The health system has collapsed,” Drop Site reported, noting shortages of basic medicine, fuel, and surgical supplies.
Since the war began in October 2023, Gaza’s Health Ministry says 66,055 Palestinians have been killed and 168,346 wounded. Thousands more remain missing under the rubble, with rescue crews saying entire families have disappeared without trace.
