Iranian lawmakers chant ‘Thank you Pakistan’ as Tehran hails Islamabad’s support against Israel
President Pezeshkian praises Pakistani Senate resolution backing Iran’s stance amid war with Israel
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — In a rare moment of diplomatic gratitude, Iranian lawmakers chanted “Thank you, thank you Pakistan” during a session of the Majlis, following a speech by President Masoud Pezeshkian that praised Islamabad’s vocal support for Iran in its ongoing war with Israel.
Addressing the parliament in Tehran, President Pezeshkian highlighted a recent resolution passed by Pakistan’s Senate that condemned Israeli aggression and pledged support for Iran’s position.
“Yesterday, Pakistan’s Senate approved a resolution stating that it stands with Iran against Israel’s nefarious policies. And wherever needed, they will stand with us. Pakistan, thank you, thank you. Pakistan, thank you, thank you,” he said.
The president’s remarks triggered a standing response from members of the Iranian parliament, who echoed his words with synchronized chants of appreciation, underscoring the deepening solidarity between the two neighboring nations amid escalating regional tensions.
The Senate of Pakistan had passed a resolution condemning Israel’s military actions against Iran, including its strikes on Iranian soil that killed civilians and senior military figures.
The resolution affirmed that Pakistan stands with Iran “wherever needed,” sending a strong diplomatic signal of support during a critical moment in Tehran’s confrontation with Tel Aviv.
Iran has been engaged in retaliatory strikes against Israel following what Tehran describes as an unprovoked act of aggression by the Israeli regime on June 13.
The cross-border escalation has since drawn widespread condemnation and solidarity statements from several regional and international actors — with Pakistan emerging as one of Iran’s most vocal supporters.
Analysts say Pakistan’s open backing represents a significant diplomatic posture and a reinforcement of historic ties between the two countries, particularly as Iran continues to face mounting pressure and global scrutiny in its military standoff with Israel.
