Iran had already booked its spot in the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship prior to this semifinal triumph.
The Asian U16 Championship, hosted across Thailand’s Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi provinces from July 12 to 19, serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Championship.
The top three teams from the event will advance as representatives of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
Iran will now seek to defend its regional dominance in Saturday’s final, aiming for its second consecutive continental title at the U16 level.
