Indonesia Comic Con and Anime Con 2025 set for October 25-26
Organizers targeting 30,000 to 35,000 visitors for the event, which seeks to fuse Western and Eastern entertainment and art
JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) – The highly anticipated Indonesia Comic Con and Indonesia Anime Con are scheduled to take place concurrently on October 25 and 26 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JCC).
Organizers are targeting an attendance of between 30,000 and 35,000 visitors for the event, which seeks to fuse Western and Eastern entertainment and art, reports RRI.
Deputy Minister of the Creative Economy, Irene Umar, welcomed the collaboration, stating that the event is expected to significantly boost the nation’s creative economy. During a recent meeting, she suggested inviting board game associations or communities to showcase their work, adding, “This allows every visitor to have a different experience each year.”
The Deputy Minister also highlighted that the National Creative Economy Day celebration is slated for October 24. “We hope this event will enliven the #OktoBerkreasi campaign as a flexible market exhibition that can be included in the National Creative Economy Day series,” she stated.
Project Manager Lulu Anwar confirmed the decision to merge the two conventions, which have historically been held separately. The Indonesia Comic Con x Indonesia Anime Con will, for the first time, feature a blend of Western and Eastern pop culture.
“This year will also see the exclusive launch of local intellectual properties (IPs) specifically for this event, and a gaming zone dedicated to board games in collaboration with board game enthusiasts,” Lulu Anwar explained.
The two-day convention will feature a comprehensive program including meet-and-greets with talent, band performances, cosplay competitions, film panels, talk shows, and various workshops.
