Eight joint UK-Saudi projects selected under AlUla Cultural Grants initiative
Program strengthens creative collaboration and supports AlUla’s transformation into a global cultural hub
MADINAH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), in partnership with the British Council, has announced the selection of eight cultural projects under the AlUla Cultural Grants program.
The initiative aims to strengthen long-term creative exchange and cross-cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
Saudi Press Agency reported that the initiative aims to enrich AlUla’s artistic and heritage landscape while reinforcing its position as an international destination for culture and creativity.
The eight winning projects were chosen from a pool of 78 applicants, covering fields such as visual and performing arts, film, archaeology, museums, architecture, design, and fashion.
Each project will bring together UK-based cultural practitioners with Saudi counterparts to co-create works, deliver training programs, and encourage sustainable cultural development in AlUla.
RCU noted that the initiative embodies its strategy of building international partnerships to deepen cultural ties and support sustainable growth.
It also underlines AlUla’s role as a regional leader in culture and heritage, rooted in its historic legacy and distinctive natural setting.
In addition to fostering artistic innovation, the program seeks to build human capacity by encouraging sustainable practices across the cultural and creative sectors.
The selected projects will be presented during the British Council’s 50th anniversary season in Saudi Arabia, scheduled between November 2025 and February 2026, coinciding with the launch of the AlUla Arts Festival.
