Egypt’s exports to UAE surge 153% in first half of 2025
Bilateral trade reaches $4.8 billion as UAE investments in Egypt climb to $2.2 billion
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) — Egypt’s exports to the United Arab Emirates rose sharply in the first half of 2025, recording a 153 percent increase to $3.8 billion compared to $1.5 billion during the same period last year.
According to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), at the same time, Egyptian imports from the UAE declined by 16.6 percent year-on-year, falling to $1 billion by the end of June 2025 from $1.2 billion in 2024.
Overall trade between the two countries expanded significantly, with total exchange reaching $4.8 billion in the first six months of 2025, up 77.7 percent from $2.7 billion a year earlier.
The UAE also stepped up its investment presence in Egypt. During the first half of the 2024/2025 fiscal year, Emirati investments reached $2.2 billion, an increase of 4.8 percent compared to $2.1 billion in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Egyptian investments in the UAE grew by 21.7 percent, rising to $750.1 million from $616.2 million.
Remittances showed a downward trend, with transfers from Egyptians working in the UAE falling to $1.8 billion in fiscal year 2023/2025, compared with $2.1 billion previously.
Transfers from Emirati citizens in Egypt also dipped to $31.6 million from $35.5 million.
The figures highlight deepening economic ties between Cairo and Abu Dhabi, underscoring the UAE’s role as one of Egypt’s most significant trade and investment partners.
