Egypt signs arms manufacturing contract with foreign firm
Agreement aims to enhance local production capabilities and integrate advanced technologies to support armed forces and exports
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) — Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production has signed a cooperation contract with an international company to advance military manufacturing capabilities, witnessed by Minister Mohamed Salah El Din Moustafa at the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2025).
The agreement seeks to localize cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and enhance the operational efficiency of domestic military production companies, according to Egypt Today.
Minister Moustafa highlighted the ministry’s strategy to maximize available resources and ensure the continuous modernization of military production facilities.
He stressed that the primary goal is to meet the operational needs of the Armed Forces and police with weapons, ammunition, equipment, and advanced electronic systems, while also achieving self-sufficiency and enabling potential exports.
The signing underscores efforts to exchange technical expertise with global partners, in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to strengthen national industry and elevate Egypt’s defense manufacturing sector.
Representatives of the foreign company praised the technical, human, and manufacturing capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies, noting significant advancements in technology and expertise.
They also commended the EDEX 2025 exhibition for showcasing Egypt’s organizational capacity and the state’s ability to host large-scale international events professionally.
