Controversial School Bus Incident in Vaughan Sparks Outrage, Relief as Driver is Removed
Parents in Vaughan are relieved after the York Catholic District School Board confirmed the removal of a school bus driver who was seen wearing a schoolgirl outfit while operating a vehicle labelled “Lolita’s Line” outside St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Elementary School.
The unsettling incident, captured in a now-viral video, shows concerned parents confronting the driver. One parent can be heard asking, “Why do you call your bus the Lolita Line?” This references the controversial novel *Lolita*, which deals with the abuse of a twelve-year-old girl.
The driver responds, “I do this every week. I don’t think there’s any problem,” before driving away.
Parents raised serious concerns about student safety due to both the name on the vehicle and the driver’s attire.
The YCDSB clarified that the driver worked for a third-party transportation provider and that school staff had immediately contacted the company. The provider acted swiftly, removing the driver from duty and assuring the board that such an incident would not occur again.
