Azerbaijan’s Library unveils exhibition to mark World Day Against Trafficking
Online display features official documents, legal materials, and Azerbaijan’s anti-trafficking efforts
BAKU, Azerbaijan (MNTV) — Azerbaijan’s National Library has launched a virtual book exhibition titled “July 30 – World Day Against Trafficking in Persons,” aiming to raise awareness about human trafficking and highlight the country’s efforts to combat the crime.
The digital exhibition includes a curated selection of official documents, photographs, legislation, and scholarly publications focused on human trafficking.
Key topics include national strategies to combat trafficking, legal protections for victims, and Azerbaijan’s broader experience in addressing the issue.
Visitors can access the exhibition online through the library’s official platform.
The United Nations General Assembly designated July 30 as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons in 2013 through resolution A/RES/68/192.
The day was first observed in 2014 and is intended to promote global awareness and support for the protection of trafficking victims.
This year’s theme, “Human Trafficking is Organized Crime – End the Exploitation,” draws attention to the often-overlooked issue of trafficking for the purpose of forced criminality.
