Azerbaijan debuts at Shanghai International Film and TV Market

BAKU, Azerbaijan (MNTV) — Azerbaijan has officially joined China’s largest television and film industry gathering for the first time, with the country’s Cinema Agency (ARKA) representing its creative sector at the Shanghai International Film & TV Market.

The participation marks a significant step in Azerbaijan’s efforts to elevate its cinematic and cultural footprint globally, reported Azertag. 

The Shanghai event, one of Asia’s premier media platforms, brings together professionals from across the international film and television industry to explore co-production, distribution, and partnership opportunities.

During the forum, the Azerbaijani delegation engaged in bilateral meetings with counterparts from Türkiye, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia, and several other countries. 

Discussions also included strategic talks with Chinese film executives aimed at exploring joint ventures and cultural exchange initiatives.

According to ARKA, Azerbaijan’s involvement underscores its broader mission to promote the nation’s rich cultural heritage and expand its presence in the international audiovisual arena.

The Shanghai International Television and Film Market serves as a global hub for media professionals to showcase projects, pitch new ideas, and strengthen industry collaboration across borders.
