Reveals plan during call with president Prabowo after winning second term
JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) — Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced plans to visit Indonesia as his first trip abroad after winning the general election.
This decision was revealed during a phone call with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who congratulated Albanese on his victory.
During the call, Albanese expressed his desire to strengthen the relationship between Australia and Indonesia, stating that the two countries have an “unbreakable bond.” Prabowo welcomed the plan, calling it an “extraordinary” honor.
Albanese’s visit to Indonesia will mark his first official trip abroad since winning the election on May 3.
His Labor Party secured 70 seats, defeating the conservative coalition led by Peter Dutton.
Albanese reiterated the importance of fostering a strong relationship between Australia and Indonesia.
