World Bank ready to support Syria in energy, digital sectors
Syria explores opportunities for recovery and reform at Spring Meetings
WASHINGTON, (MNTV) – The World Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Syria’s recovery in key sectors such as energy and digital technology, according to Ousmane Dione, the bank’s Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa.
In a tweet, Dione shared that meaningful discussions took place during the World Bank’s Spring Meetings with Syria’s Minister of Finance Mohammad Yusr Barnieh and Central Bank Governor Abdul Qader Hosriya.
The meetings marked Syria’s first participation in over ten years.
The discussions focused on priority areas for Syria’s recovery and reform efforts, with the aim of rebuilding vital infrastructure and fostering international financial cooperation.
