Uzbekistan hosts Eurasia 2025 leather and footwear expo
International fair showcases industry growth as Uzbekistan expands exports, investments, and global ties
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (MNTV) — The 18th International Leather, Footwear, Accessories, Fur, Wool, and Localized Products Exhibition-Fair, UzCharmExpo–EURASIA 2025, concluded on April 18 at the Uzexpocentre National Exhibition Complex in Tashkent. The event featured around 200 companies from Central Asia, Italy, Türkiye, Iran, China, and Russia, showcasing their latest products and developments.
Organized by the Uzcharmsanoat Association in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the People’s Bank, the exhibition served as a major platform for regional and international players in the leather and footwear industries.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of Uzcharmsanoat Mirsaid Zokhidov and international representatives emphasized the expo’s role in connecting leading manufacturers. Zokhidov highlighted Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms aimed at expanding production and exports, attracting foreign investment, and building ties with global brands.
He noted that footwear production has surged from 70.5 million pairs in 2020 to 205.2 million in 2024. The total area of leather goods produced rose from 1,261.8 million square decimeters to 2,710.2 million, while leather accessory output climbed from 70.1 billion Uzbek soums ($5.39 million) to 166.9 billion ($12.8 million) over the same period.
Uzbek exports have also expanded significantly, growing from 12 destination countries in 2020 to 40 in 2024 — a sign of increasing global demand and stronger international partnerships. Foreign investment has followed suit: 105 projects worth $187.6 million were launched in 2020, compared to 181 projects totaling $265.1 million in 2024. Zokhidov said these efforts are not only growing the industry but also creating jobs.
The exhibition also hosted business-to-business (B2B), government-to-business (G2B), and government-to-government (G2G) meetings, giving participants the opportunity to network, explore partnerships, and present innovations in the leather sector.
