Tunisia named guest of honor at prestigious French art salon
Country to showcase blend of contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship with curated and intricate collections at Antibes Art Salon
ANTIBES, France (MNTV) – Tunisia has been announced as the guest of honor for the 53rd edition of the Antibes Art Salon, a major European event celebrating art, design, and traditional crafts.
The salon will take place from April 12 to 21, 2025, in the picturesque coastal city of Antibes, located in southeastern France.
This year’s participation by Tunisia is organized through a collaboration between the Antibes Tourism Office, the Tunisian National Office of Handicrafts, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The effort is part of the Creative Tunisia project, an initiative of the “Tunisia Our Destination” program funded by the European Union and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
Tunisia’s presence will feature an exclusive exhibition of 15 curated collections, spotlighting a unique fusion between contemporary design and traditional Tunisian craftsmanship.
The pieces are the result of creative partnerships aimed at celebrating the country’s artisanal heritage while pushing design boundaries.
The Antibes Art Salon has built a reputation as a cornerstone of the European art calendar, bringing together around 90 carefully selected exhibitors from France and abroad each year.
With more than 20,000 visitors annually, including art lovers, collectors, and industry professionals, the event offers significant exposure to participating artists and designers.
Through Creative Tunisia, the initiative backing this year’s showcase, organizers aim to strengthen the value chains of Tunisia’s traditional industries and design sector.
The project works to enhance the global competitiveness of Tunisian artisans, ensuring greater market access and long-term sustainability for locally produced crafts.
Tunisia’s role as guest of honor is not only a recognition of its cultural legacy but also an opportunity to position its artisanship within global creative dialogues.
