ISTANBUL (AA) – US President Donald Trump left Israel on Monday for Egypt’s Red Sea city of Sharm el-Sheikh to attend an international summit focused on the Gaza Strip.
The meeting, co-chaired by Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, is set to open later Monday and will bring together leaders from more than 20 countries.
The summit aims to reinforce the Gaza ceasefire and coordinate plans for post-war reconstruction.
Trump’s visit to Israel earlier in the day came shortly after the Palestinian group Hamas released 20 Israeli hostages as part of the ceasefire agreement.
