Jordan national exports rise 8pc in first eight months of 2025
Stronger trade performance lifts exports to $9.46 billion, though imports continue to widen deficit
AMMAN, Jordan (MNTV) — Jordan’s exports grew by 8 percent during the first eight months of 2025, while re-exports increased by 4.8 percent, according to the Department of Statistics’ (DoS) latest foreign trade report.
The total value of exports rose by 7.7 percent compared with the same period last year, while imports expanded by 5.6 percent, resulting in a 3.5 percent increase in the national trade deficit.
According to the DoS, total exports between January and August reached $9.46 billion, including $8.61 billion in national exports and $863 million in re-exports. Imports during the same period amounted to $18.57 billion.
In August alone, total exports reached $1.29 billion, comprising $1.17 billion in national exports and $116 million in re-exports, while imports totalled $2.59 billion.
Monthly data showed that exports in August rose by 5.8 percent year-on-year, driven by a 5.5 percent rise in national exports and a 9.3 percent increase in re-exports. Imports also climbed by 7.1 percent over the same period.
The coverage ratio of total exports to imports stood at 51 percent during January–August, up from 50 percent a year earlier, reflecting moderate improvement in Jordan’s trade performance.
