Charlie Kirk’s remarks on Israel resurface amid speculation over his killing
Some posts mention old videos of Kirk, noting he was criticised for questioning Israeli government's actions
NEW YORK, United States (MNTV) — Posts speculating about a link between Israel and the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk have surged on social media since his death, according to a report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
The ADL said it found more than 10,000 posts on X suggesting Israel or Jewish organizations may have been behind the shooting.
Authorities in Utah have not identified a motive or presented any evidence of outside involvement, and the investigation is ongoing.
Kirk, 31, co-founded Turning Point USA and was a prominent supporter of Israel, often defending its policies in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mourned him as a “lion-hearted friend of Israel” after the attack.
Some widely shared posts cited older videos of Kirk saying he faced criticism for raising questions about Israeli government actions.
Others referenced an August 13 post by an Infowars host claiming Kirk believed “Israel will kill him if he turns against them,” though the statement named no sources.
Commentator Jackson Hinkle also shared a post viewed over 10 million times, writing that Kirk “used to be an Israel loyalist … He feared Israel would kill him … He started mildly criticizing Israel,” before suggesting officials were concealing the truth about the shooting.
The ADL said the wave of speculation reflects how unverified narratives can quickly gain traction following high-profile events.
As of Friday, many of the posts remained visible on X, which has relaxed some content-moderation rules under owner Elon Musk.
