Snow blankets Trojena mountain resort in Saudi Arabia
Cold weather system brings snowfall and rain to northern regions, with more wintry conditions forecast nationwide
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Snowfall covered parts of northern Saudi Arabia as a cold weather system brought low temperatures and rainfall to several regions of the Kingdom.
Trojena, a popular outdoor destination for skiing and hiking located on Jebel Al-Lawz in Tabuk Province, was blanketed in snow and saw light rainfall, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The mountain resort sits at elevations reaching up to 2,600 meters.
In addition to Tabuk, light-to-moderate rainfall was reported in Bir Bin Hermas, Al-Ayinah, Ammar, and Shaqra and surrounding areas.
The National Center for Meteorology said further snowfall is possible on Thursday in northern parts of the Riyadh region and Al-Qassim Province, following snow recorded earlier in Tabuk and Hail regions.
Meteorologists said the conditions are part of a broader winter weather pattern affecting northern and central parts of the Kingdom.
