Saudi Arabia showcases handicrafts, cultural investment at Expo 2025 Osaka
Workshops and interactive displays highlight the Kingdom’s Year of Handicrafts and Vision 2030 cultural growth strategy
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Development Fund organized a series of activities at the Kingdom’s pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka, to promote handicrafts and cultural investment opportunities.
The program featured an investor-focused workshop on innovative financing solutions and an interactive palm-weaving experience, underscoring the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen its cultural identity on the global stage, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The workshop, titled “Saudi Cultural Development Fund: Driving Innovative Business Solutions,” introduced international investors and entrepreneurs to the fund’s role as the Kingdom’s primary financial enabler in the cultural sector.
The session highlighted opportunities for collaboration and showcased Saudi Arabia’s growing creative economy.
Alongside the workshop, visitors participated in “Saudi Handicraft: Palm Weaving,” an initiative carried out in partnership with Madrasat Addeera, a training institution in AlUla, and Turquoise Mountain, a global organization dedicated to preserving traditional crafts.
The activity gave attendees hands-on experience in weaving palm fronds into decorative and practical items, reflecting the Kingdom’s living heritage.
By hosting these initiatives, the Cultural Development Fund aimed to highlight Saudi Arabia’s Year of Handicrafts, attract international investment into the cultural sector, and advance Vision 2030 objectives of fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable cultural development.
