Real Madrid eyes Muslim football prodigy Abdellah Ouazane
16-year-old midfielder, lauded for his performances with Morocco's U17 team, is on the radar of top European clubs
MADRID (MNTV) – Real Madrid is reportedly pursuing 16-year-old Moroccan midfielder Abdellah Ouazane, a standout talent from Ajax Amsterdam’s youth academy.
With his contract set to expire on June 30, the Spanish giants are keen to secure his signature, though they face competition from other top European clubs.
Born in Amsterdam in January 2009, Ouazane began his football journey at AVV Zeeburgia before joining Ajax’s youth system in 2016.
His versatility allows him to operate as both a central midfielder and an attacking playmaker.
Known for his powerful shooting and precise free kicks, Ouazane has drawn comparisons to players like Jude Bellingham.
Internationally, Ouazane initially represented the Netherlands at the U15 level but later committed to Morocco, citing a strong connection to his heritage.
He played a pivotal role in Morocco’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, scoring multiple goals and earning the Best Player award as Morocco clinched the title.
Real Madrid has been monitoring Ouazane’s progress since the previous season, impressed by his performances in both domestic and international competitions.
Discussions have taken place between the club and the player’s representatives, though no formal agreement has been reached.
Should he join, it’s yet to be determined whether he would start with the Juvenil A team or Real Madrid Castilla.
Other European powerhouses, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, have also expressed interest in Ouazane, making his decision a closely watched development in the football world.
