Qatar charity to host major fundraising event for Syria reconstruction
DOHA, Qatar (MNTV) — Qatar charity is set to organize the ’27th Night Challenge,’ the largest YouTube fundraising event, this Wednesday as part of its Ramadan initiative, ‘Giving Lives On.’
With the theme ‘Rebuilding Hope,’ the event seeks to generate QR 40 million in donations to restore 1,500 homes in Syria, allowing displaced families to re-establish their communities, reported Qatar News Agency.
The event will also include live video calls with Syrian influencers and media figures from displacement camps, offering direct insight into the dire humanitarian situation and the significance of reconstruction efforts.
Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, Chief Marketing Officer at Qatar Charity, called on Qatar’s benefactors to seize the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during Ramadan.
He encouraged donations of Zakat and Sadaqah to fund the initiative, which aims to replace temporary shelters with permanent housing for displaced Syrians who have endured 14 years of crisis.
The project, supported by funds from the ’27th Night Challenge,’ will be executed in the Hama countryside, an area devastated by prolonged conflict.
Beyond rebuilding 1,500 homes, the initiative will restore key infrastructure, including a health center, mosques, primary to secondary schools, a kindergarten, and 50 commercial shops.
Once completed, the project is expected to facilitate the closure of displacement camps, ending years of instability for thousands of Syrians.
By providing permanent homes and essential services, Qatar Charity aims to help rebuild lives and foster long-term community revival.
