Oman hosts conference to advance innovative, sustainable education
Event brings together over 300 participants, 80 experts from 28 countries to explore AI, blended learning, and governance in higher education
MUSCAT, Oman (MNTV) — Oman inaugurated the “Digital Universities in the Arab World” conference, an international gathering aimed at promoting innovation and sustainability in higher education through digital transformation.
The two-day event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in partnership with the Arab Open University, convened more than 300 participants, including 80 specialized speakers from 28 countries, over 100 organizers, and representatives of nearly 70 higher education institutions.
Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, presided over the opening ceremony, underscoring the importance of aligning digital education strategies with long-term national and regional development goals.
The conference agenda features panel discussions and workshops on key themes such as “The Future of Hybrid and Virtual Learning,” “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on University Institutions,” “Governance Models in Light of Digital Transformations,” and “Mechanisms for Evaluating Universities’ Response.”
Organizers said the initiative reflects Oman’s commitment to fostering collaboration among Arab universities in the fields of digital education, artificial intelligence, and blended learning, while also highlighting leading global experiences in the sector.
