Oman, Brunei sign media cooperation agreement
MoU outlines collaboration in exchange of radio, television and news materials, programs
MUSCAT, Oman (MNTV) – Oman and Brunei have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the media sector, reports Muscat Daily.
The MoU outlines collaboration in the exchange of radio, television and news materials and programs, as well as expertise sharing, training and reciprocal visits between media professionals from both countries.
The agreement was signed earlier this week by Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defense, Brunei Darussalam.
During his visit, Halbi toured the digital studio complex of Oman TV, where he was briefed on the advanced media and news services offered by the Ministry of Information. He was introduced to the digital technologies and tools supporting the ministry’s efforts to meet evolving media requirements.
Praising Oman’s achievements in the media sector, Halbi commended the sultanate’s progress in adopting modern technologies and delivering media content aligned with international standards. He expressed hope that the MoU would open new avenues for cooperation in media development, training initiatives and professional exchanges.
