Nigeria, World Bank to lay 90,000 km of fibre network
Nigeria’s government, with World Bank financing, plans to roll out a 90,000-kilometre fibre optic network to expand broadband access
ABUJA, Nigeria (MNTV) — Nigeria’s government, with World Bank financing, plans to roll out a 90,000-kilometre fibre optic network to expand broadband access nationwide. The initiative — called Building Resilient Digital Infrastructure for Growth (BRIDGE) — will be implemented as a public-private partnership and managed by a special-purpose company.
The government is seeking a technical adviser to guide planning, design and deployment. The adviser will work alongside legal and financial experts to ensure the network meets Nigerian regulations and global standards while remaining cost-efficient and commercially viable.
Applicants must have at least a decade of experience advising on large-scale digital infrastructure, especially fibre optic networks. They must also show expertise in feasibility studies, due diligence, network gap assessments and geospatial broadband analysis in emerging markets.
The adviser will be chosen under the World Bank’s Quality and Cost-Based Selection process, which weighs both qualifications and price.
