Muslim nations condemn Israeli move to annex occupied West Bank
Trump warns the U.S. could reconsider its political and military support for Israel if it moves forward with annexation or continued settlement expansion
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (MNTV) — More than a dozen Muslim and Arab nations, including Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, have jointly condemned Israel’s move to advance bills extending its annexation reach over the occupied West Bank, calling the action a grave violation of international law and the UN Charter.
The statement, issued by the foreign ministries of several countries, said the Israeli Knesset’s preliminary approval of the bills constitutes “a blatant breach of international resolutions” and a step toward annexation of Palestinian land.
It warned that such measures deepen tensions, threaten regional stability, and undermine the prospects for a two-state solution.
The joint declaration, endorsed by members of the Arab and Islamic groups, reaffirmed that Israel “has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem,” emphasizing that the international community must hold Tel Aviv accountable for its continuing violations.
The nations also voiced support for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) advisory opinion issued on October 22, which reaffirmed Israel’s obligations to “cease all new settlement construction,” end the occupation, and “allow the entry of essential supplies of daily life” into Gaza and the West Bank.
Citing the human death toll of the conflict, the statement condemned Israel’s months-long blockade on aid deliveries by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
It condemned that Israel has prevented the entry of over 6,000 truckloads of food, fuel, and other vital supplies since March, worsening the suffering of civilians.
The governments urged the UN Security Council and signatories to the Geneva Conventions to take immediate action to stop Israel’s unilateral measures and ensure the protection of Palestinians under occupation. “These bills are not only illegal but also a direct affront to international law and humanitarian principles,” the statement read.
The parliamentary vote in Israel coincided with US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Tel Aviv, aimed at supporting ceasefire efforts in Gaza.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump warned that the United States could reconsider its political and military support for Israel if it moves forward with annexation or continued settlement expansion.
Diplomatic observers say the unified stance by Muslim and Arab nations underscores growing frustration over Israel’s defiance of international norms and the inaction of global powers.
