MELBOURNE, Australia (MNTV) – Australian Muslim community radio 2MFM emerged as the most awarded station at the 2025 National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters’ Council (NEMBC) in Melbourne.
2MFM took home awards in 3 out of the 5 categories it was nominated in and received an additional special recognition for the “Voices Through Time” award, highlighting the station’s historic and ongoing contribution to ethnic and community broadcasting in Australia.
The Gala Awards, a centrepiece of the annual NEMBC Conference, awards outstanding achievements in multicultural media across the nation. This year, 2MFM led the field taking home more awards than any other broadcaster, reports Australian Muslim Times.
“Being recognised in three competitive categories and receiving a fourth honour for our enduring legacy is a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, staff, and community, as well as the Multicultural Station of the Year 2025,” said Abdul Ghannoum, President of 2MFM.
The station’s award-winning efforts reflect its commitment to community storytelling, cultural preservation, youth and women’s empowerment, and Islamic values, all delivered through dynamic and accessible media.
