Malaysia’s Sabah state to host ASEAN Travel Exchange
Two-day event in Kota Kinabalu attracts 354 sellers and buyers from 17 countries
KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia (MNTV) – The tourism industry in Malaysia’s Sabah state continues to gain traction as 354 delegates from 17 countries converge in Kota Kinabalu later this month for a business-to-business networking event.
Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo.
There will be 125 sellers and 229 buyers at the inaugural two-day ASEAN Travel Exchange (ATE) 2025 which will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre on June 19 and 20, reports Sabah Media.
There will be sellers from across Malaysia as well as Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, and Cambodia.
“The buyers include representatives from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Thailand,” said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Christina Liew after receiving a courtesy call from the organising committee led by FATA President Datuk Tan Kok Liang at her office.
The organisation of ATE stems from a strategic partnership between the Sabah Tourism Board, the ASEAN Tourism Association, the Federation of ASEAN Travel Associations (FATA), the Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents, and the AirAsia Group, she said.
