Kyrgyzstan to build first international theme park inspired by nomadic heritage
Kyrgyzstan partners with U.S.-based IdeAttack to create cultural fantasy park blending Manas epic, Silk Road history, and modern attractions
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (MNTV)— In a major push to expand its tourism sector, Kyrgyzstan is set to build its first-ever international-standard theme park near the city of Tokmok in the Chüy Region. The ambitious project will be developed in collaboration with the U.S.-based design firm IdeAttack Inc., known for its work on world-renowned parks across the United States, United Arab Emirates, China, and South Korea.
According to a report by state-run news agency Kabar.kg, a cooperation agreement has been signed between the Kyrgyz Tourism Development Support Fund and the Chüy District Administration.
A 50-hectare site has already been allocated for the construction of the park, with negotiations and groundwork having begun in early 2024.
The theme park’s concept draws deeply from Kyrgyzstan’s cultural and historical roots. Visitors can expect a Central Asian fantasy world shaped by the legacy of the “Manas” epic — a cornerstone of Kyrgyz oral tradition.
Attractions will include themed zones highlighting the ancient Silk Road, traditional yurts, felt-making workshops, national music and dance performances, horseback riding, and authentic cuisine experiences.
This marks IdeAttack’s first venture into Central Asia, and the project is being positioned as a landmark initiative to place Kyrgyzstan on the global tourism map. Though an official timeline has not been disclosed, such large-scale developments typically span several years. If construction begins soon, the park is unlikely to open before 2027.
Authorities say the park will not only boost foreign tourist arrivals but also offer an immersive showcase of Kyrgyz culture, history, and creativity. By blending global design expertise with local heritage, the initiative seeks to redefine Kyrgyzstan as a destination that merges tradition with innovation.
