Renowned mountaineer Anar Burasheva has become the first woman from Kazakhstan and Central Asia to climb the highest peak on each continent
ASTANA, Kazakhstan (MNTV) — Renowned mountaineer Anar Burasheva has become the first woman from Kazakhstan and Central Asia to climb the highest peak on each continent, completing the prestigious Seven Summits challenge, according to Qazinform News Agency.
Burasheva achieved the milestone after successfully summiting the Vinson Massif in Antarctica, the final peak in the global mountaineering program.
“This has been a two-year journey — the Seven Summits project. I am the first woman from Kazakhstan and Central Asia to achieve this,” Burasheva wrote on Instagram. “At the moment, I can’t put all my emotions into words — there are simply too many.”
Over the past two years, Burasheva climbed some of the world’s most demanding mountains, including Mount Everest (8,848 meters), Aconcagua in South America (6,962 meters), Denali in North America (6,194 meters), Kilimanjaro in Africa (5,895 meters), Mount Elbrus in Europe (5,642 meters), Puncak Jaya — also known as the Carstensz Pyramid — in Oceania (4,884 meters), and the Vinson Massif in Antarctica (4,897 meters).
Her achievement marks a historic milestone for women’s mountaineering in the region and places Kazakhstan prominently on the global adventure sports map.
Earlier, Qazinform reported that Kazakhstan has also announced its flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
