DAMASCUS (MNTV) — Israeli forces carried out a cross-border raid into southern Syria’s Quneitra countryside on Wednesday, according to local media reports.
Syria’s state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV said Israeli troops advanced into the Al-Owainia village in northern Quneitra, raiding two homes. Another unit of eight military vehicles — including two tanks and a bulldozer — moved toward Eastern Samadaniyah, where it remained stationed for several hours before withdrawing toward the city of Quneitra.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the operation.
The latest incursion follows a series of Israeli raids across Syria’s southern provinces in recent months, despite international condemnation and calls to respect Syria’s sovereignty.
Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its control over the occupied Golan Heights, seizing parts of the demilitarized buffer zone — a move that violated the 1974 Disengagement Agreementbetween the two countries.
Observers say the recent escalation highlights Israel’s growing military footprint in southern Syria amid regional instability.
