Iranian students win 13 medals at INNOVERSE 2025 innovation expo
Young inventors showcase AI, medical, and environmental solutions at global competition
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iranian students secured 13 medals—including three gold, four silver, and six bronze—at the INNOVERSE International Invention & Innovation Expo 2025, highlighting the country’s emerging scientific and technological talent.
According to Mehr News, the event, hosted by the United States and held virtually on August 24, brought together 177 teams from 47 countries, ranging from Armenia and Bangladesh to the UK, US, and Japan.
Organizers described INNOVERSE as more than a competition, calling it a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and cross-generational scientific growth.
Iran’s gold medalists included Ilia Majidzadeh Heravi and Parsa Karimi Yazdi for developing CommuniMateSmartApp, a communication tool designed for the deaf.
Other top winners were teams led by Artin Radmatin and Ava Alebouyeh for their research on magnetic gears, and Niki Abtahi with Parsa Ahmadpour Rahiminejad for advancing pneumatic muscle design and simulation.
Silver medals were awarded to projects such as the EcoNet Bin, an AI- and IoT-powered smart recycling system, and the Medismart Smart Pharmacy Solution.
Other winners developed antimicrobial dental composites and seizure-predicting EEG analysis software.
Bronze medalists included projects focused on biodegradable antimicrobial packaging, a humanoid IoT-based childcare robot, oral ulcer treatments in diabetic rats, herbal nanogel therapies for skin cancer, and IoT-driven child safety solutions.
The victories follow Iran’s strong performance at other international competitions. At the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), held in Mumbai from August 11 to 21, the Iranian team won five gold medals, securing the world championship title for a second consecutive year.
Iranian students also excelled at the Yakutia International Science Fair (YISF) in Russia and the World Invention Creativity Olympics (WICO) in South Korea.
At YISF, Iranian projects such as EcoNet Bin and CommuniMate SmartApp won top prizes, while others earned distinctions for innovations in blind-assistive glasses and sustainable engineering solutions.
At WICO, held in Seoul in July, Iran’s Radin Abbasi and Sam Rashidi won gold for their humanoid childcare robot NannyBot.
Other Iranian participants, including Matin Hayati and Raman Nafarieh, earned silver medals for breakthroughs in seizure prediction and cancer treatment research.
The Ministry of Education praised the achievements as the result of students’ perseverance, family support, and the dedication of teachers and coaches, stating that the results once again “raised Iran’s flag in the international arena.”
