Iran to launch new satellites under Shahid Soleimani class by year-end
Minister says program aims at advancing domestic space technology with support from research institutes
TEHRAN (MNTV) — Iran plans to launch several satellites later this year as part of its expanding space program, Communications and Information Technology Minister Sattar Hashemi announced.
Hashemi said the launches will involve satellites from the Shahid Soleimani class, describing the program as “gradually reaching maturity.”
He noted that both the Iranian Space Organization and the Space Research Institute are actively engaged in developing the system.
“Several light satellites will be launched into space this year within the Shahid Soleimani class. The development of its components is underway, and launches are on the agenda using both domestic and foreign launchers,” Hashemi told reporters.
The minister added that under President Masoud Pezeshkian’s administration, known as the 14th government, the focus remains on “targeted launches and providing effective services to the people.”
