Expansion strategy unveiled at Iran Plast Exhibition to boost industrial output and economic growth
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iran plans to increase its polymer production capacity to 16 million tons by the end of the Seventh National Development Plan, nearly doubling current output, according to the National Petrochemical Company (NPC).
Speaking at the unveiling of the Petrochemical Products Technical Specifications System (Samap) during the third day of the Iran Plast International Exhibition, NPC Managing Director Hassan Abbaszadeh said the country’s existing capacity stands at about nine million tons.
The planned expansion reflects a broader effort to strengthen domestic industry and drive economic resilience.
Abbaszadeh emphasized that exhibitions such as Iran Plast play a vital role in demonstrating Iran’s industrial potential.
He added that these initiatives align with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s call to boost production and strengthen the national economy.
