JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) – The YouTube ecosystem in Indonesia continues to experience massive growth with the video platform recording a 20 percent increase in watch time in 2025, reports VOI.
YouTube noted that there were around 3,000 YouTube channels that managed to penetrate the number of one million subscribers.
Meanwhile, data from the ‘Google/Kantar survey, Future of Video’ also revealed that as many as 90 percent of Indonesians agree that YouTube has the most trusted creators for product recommendations when shopping.
“And these creators make YouTube the center of world culture. This means that we call it the epicenter of culture. And this is where . . . social movements began,” said Country Director of Google Indonesia, Veronica Utami, at a press briefing in Jakarta.
The same survey also found that 92 percent of viewers in Indonesia strongly believe in YouTube creators, especially for product recommendations they want to buy.
YouTube said that the contribution of video commerce in Indonesia has jumped dramatically, where by 2024, this figure has shot up to 20 percent, compared to 2022 which is only 5 percent.
