Universitas Brawijaya, Hope Education Group to establish international college in Malang or Jakarta
MALANG, Indonesia (MNTV) – A top Indonesian university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese higher education group to establish an international college, reports Prasetya Online.
Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has joined hands with Hope Education Group (XJ International Holdings), one of the largest private higher education groups in China.
According to the MoU, both parties agreed to establish the Universitas Brawijaya Overseas International College either in Malang or Jakarta.
This collaboration covers several core programs, including the establishment of branch campuses supported by leading Chinese universities, dual degree programs at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, language preparatory programs, as well as enhanced international mobility for faculty and students.
The partnership also includes strategies for academic quality improvement, strengthening international rankings, publishing a White Paper on Global Higher Education Sustainability, and developing cross-border career networks.
UB Rector Prof. Widodo said that UB has always been enthusiastic about pursuing strategic international collaborations. “Every opportunity for internationalization is something we always consider and follow up seriously.
Hope Education Group has extensive experience managing dozens of campuses across various countries. We believe this collaboration will bring significant benefits for both UB and our partners,” he said.
Hope Education Group Vice-CEO, Ms. Peng Lan, highlighted Indonesia’s vast potential and UB’s unique position. “Indonesia is a rich country with great opportunities, while UB is a large university with a huge student population and located in a cool and comfortable city. This is certainly a great opportunity for us to expand in Indonesia through collaboration with UB.
By establishing the Overseas International College, we are confident that we can deliver high-quality international education programs in Malang,” she stated.
