Indonesia to send healthcare workers to Canada
Minister says efforts being made to find more employment opportunities for skilled workers
PADANG PARIAMAN, Indonesia (MNTV) — Indonesia has established a partnership with the government of New Brunswick, Canada, to place its workers in the health sector, reports RRI.
As part of the initial phase of the cooperation, Indonesia will soon send 150 professionals to work at various healthcare facilities across New Brunswick.
“This partnership is just the beginning. In the future, we aim not only to increase the number of workers sent abroad but also to explore new and diverse employment sectors,” said Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding.
He urged prospective migrant workers to adopt European work standards. This, he said, is crucial to maintaining the trust placed in Indonesia by foreign partners like the government of New Brunswick.
Indonesia has already established similar placement agreements with Germany and Poland.
Meanwhile, negotiations are ongoing with other countries, including Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, and the United States, to explore new destination markets for Indonesian migrant labor.
