Indian firms accused of aiding Israeli war machine face backlash from civil society
Rights groups urge Indian lawmakers to uphold anti-colonial legacy, demand arms embargo on Israel over complicity in Gaza genocide
NEW DELHI, India (MNTV) — A coalition of civil society organizations has called on Indian lawmakers to take urgent action against local companies accused of supplying critical technology to Israeli weapons manufacturers involved in the Gaza war.
In an open letter addressed to members of Parliament, the group—Bengaluru for Justice and Peace (BfJP)—named nine Indian firms with operations in the southern city of Bengaluru that have partnerships with major Israeli arms companies, including Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
These Israeli firms are deeply implicated in the ongoing assault on Gaza, which has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians since October 2023.
The letter condemned the Indian companies for allegedly enabling what it described as Israel’s “genocide of Palestinians” and violations of international law in the occupied territories.
“These companies are not passive suppliers—they are complicit in war crimes,” the letter stated, warning that India’s historic solidarity with Palestine, rooted in its own anti-colonial struggle, was being “irreversibly betrayed.”
Among the companies listed are Ace Inotec Manufacturing, Alpha Design Technologies, Alpha-Elsec Aerospace Systems, Amphenol Interconnect India, Amphetronix Offset Interconnect Solutions, DCX Systems, Defsys Solutions, Indo-MIM, SASMOS HET Technologies, and Wave Mechanics.
Most of these firms had already been flagged in a recent report by the global alliance Workers in Palestine, which has called for a comprehensive boycott of Israeli arms manufacturers and their supply chains.
The letter, authored by Aishwarya R and Rohini on behalf of BfJP, urged Parliament members to raise the issue in the ongoing legislative session and press for both governmental and corporate accountability.
“As our elected representatives, your views in Parliament must reflect those of the people—and the people of India stand in unflinching solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for liberation, dignity, and equality,” the letter asserted.
The coalition, comprising rights groups and concerned citizens, pointed to India’s constitutional commitments and obligations under international law, including the Genocide Convention, as grounds for immediate action. They called for an arms embargo on Israel and the enforcement of corporate accountability measures against firms profiting from the war.
BfJP’s intervention adds to growing domestic and international pressure on countries and corporations to cut ties with Israel’s military-industrial complex amid mounting evidence of war crimes and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
