Houthis claim hypersonic missile attack on Israel, Tel Aviv airport targeted
Yemeni group says strike disrupted operations and sent residents to shelters, but Israeli military reports missile was intercepted before reaching its target
SANAA, Yemen (MNTV) — Yemen’s Houthi government claimed to have launched a hypersonic ballistic missile toward Israel, saying it struck Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.
Houthi military spokesperson Yehya Saree described the strike as a “qualitative military operation” carried out by the Palestine-2 missile unit.
He asserted that the attack disrupted airport operations and prompted Israeli settlers to take shelter.
The Israeli military rejected the claim, stating that air defense systems intercepted the projectile before it entered Israeli airspace, preventing any damage or casualties.
The latest announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with the Houthis continuing to position themselves as part of a wider regional front against Israel.
