Hamas showing ‘good faith’ under Gaza ceasefire, says US negotiator Kushner
Senior American negotiator Jared Kushner said Hamas appears to be honoring its commitments under the Gaza ceasefire agreement
NEW YORK, United States (MNTV) — Senior American negotiator Jared Kushner said Hamas appears to be honoring its commitments under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, though he cautioned that the situation remains fragile and could deteriorate rapidly.
In a televised interview Sunday, Kushner — a key architect of Middle East policy during the Trump administration — said regional mediators have assured Washington that Hamas is acting “in good faith” as the truce continues.
He confirmed that the United States, Israel, and international mediators are collectively overseeing the ceasefire’s implementation, including the return of Israeli hostages and remains.
When asked about Hamas’s compliance, Kushner said reports indicate the group is “so far” adhering to its obligations under the deal.
Despite the encouraging assessment, Kushner emphasized the ceasefire’s volatility, warning that “it could break down at any minute.”
He urged both sides to avoid provocations and focus on sustaining calm during the agreement’s initial phase.
Kushner also credited Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye for their role in mediating communication between Israeli and Hamas officials, noting their efforts are vital for advancing humanitarian goals and facilitating the recovery of deceased hostages.
