Four Mississauga Restaurants Fail Health Inspections
Peel Public Health has issued conditional passes to four restaurants in Mississauga for violating several food safety standards. The list includes:
- **Royal Paan:** Located at 3050 Artesian Dr, Unit 9, this restaurant failed to meet multiple standards during its inspection on June 26, 2025. Violations included improper food storage temperatures, unsanitary conditions, inadequate pest control, and a lack of supplies in the washrooms.
- **Soul 5:** Situated at 3920 Eglinton Ave. W., Unit 29, was inspected on June 25, 2025, and was flagged for inadequate handwashing stations, poor hand hygiene practices, and a lack of certified food handlers on-site. A recent follow-up inspection has since resulted in a passing grade.
- **Chickentarian:** Located at 3450 Platinum Dr., Units A16–17, this restaurant was found in violation of several hygiene-related issues, including unsanitary premises, improper food contact surfaces, inadequate maintenance, missing sanitization tools, and insufficient pest prevention measures. The owners addressed some of these issues during the inspection process, and a subsequent visit resulted in a passing grade.
- **Paan Casa:** Located at 3505 Odyssey Dr., Unit 68, was also inspected on June 25, 2025. Violations included improper food storage, inadequate pest control, and insufficient housekeeping. The staff corrected some of these issues on the spot, and the restaurant has since passed reinspection.
Peel Public Health utilizes a colour-coded health pass system: a yellow conditional pass indicates that the establishment did not meet all safety standards and must correct high-risk violations; a green pass signifies compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements; while a red closure sign indicates serious health risks.
