EgyptAir partners with SITA to modernize network infrastructure
New connectivity solutions to strengthen operational efficiency, cybersecurity, automation, and passenger services as part of EgyptAir’s digital transformation strategy
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) — EgyptAir has announced a major strategic partnership with global air transport IT provider SITA to modernize its network infrastructure, aiming to improve operational performance and enhance the passenger experience across its services.
The collaboration will see the national carrier implement SITA Connect Go, a cloud-based, scalable solution designed to support growing demands for bandwidth, security, and automation in airline operations.
The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony in Cairo between Eng. Yasser Omran, Head of the Information Sector at EGYPTAIR Holding Company, and Houssam Dakroub, Director for North and French-speaking Africa at SITA.
Through this initiative, EgyptAir will gain secure airport connectivity, advanced infrastructure protection, and Secure Service Edge (SSE) management.
The solution also integrates service assurance and enhanced messaging capabilities to streamline communications and support real-time decision-making.
EgyptAir will also benefit from the deployment of SITA’s Community Departure Control System (DCS), which is expected to significantly improve ground operations and reduce costs across the airline’s network.
“As airlines in the Middle East and Africa undergo rapid transformation, modern infrastructure is essential to meet evolving demands,” said Selim Bouri, President for the Middle East and Africa at SITA.
“EgyptAir’s adoption of next-generation connectivity reinforces its commitment to efficiency, security, and sustainability in a fast-changing aviation environment”, he added.
The upgrade is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to modernize its civil aviation sector and position itself as a regional hub for aviation, digital services, and innovation.
By leveraging smart technologies, EgyptAir aims to boost its global competitiveness while delivering smoother, more reliable services for travelers through Egyptian airports.
