Candace Owens claims Jewish donors pressured Charlie Kirk before his death
Kirk began losing backing after he hosted speakers critical of Israel at his events and expressed disillusionment with the pro-Israel lobby
NEW YORK (MNTV) – American conservative commentator Candace Owens has alleged that Charlie Kirk, the late founder of Turning Point USA, came under heavy pressure from Jewish donors shortly before his death.
Owens made the claim in a video shared on her YouTube channel, citing screenshots that she said contained messages written by Kirk in a private group chat.
According to Owens, Kirk had begun losing financial backing after he hosted speakers critical of Israel at his events and expressed growing disillusionment with the pro-Israel lobby.
She said that several Jewish donors started withdrawing funds from Turning Point USA, especially after journalist Tucker Carlson, known for his outspoken criticism of Israel, appeared on Kirk’s program.
Owens added that both she and Carlson had faced harassment for attempting to reveal what she described as the truth about Kirk’s death by gunfire last month.
In one of the screenshots allegedly from a nine-member group chat, a message attributed to Kirk read: “Just lost another huge Jewish donor. $2 million a year because we won’t cancel Tucker.”
Carlson, speaking on his show on Sept. 17, said that Kirk had often voiced negative opinions about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a “destructive force.”
Carlson claimed that Kirk believed Netanyahu manipulated the United States into engaging in wars that served Israel’s interests, calling such actions “shameful and humiliating.”
“He said that to me many times and to others around him,” Carlson said.
“There was a small, very intense group who tormented Charlie Kirk until the day he died.”
Kirk was shot dead on Sept. 10 while addressing an event at a university in Utah.
The suspected shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested shortly after the attack and remains in custody.
Responding to Owens’ claims, Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet on Tuesday confirmed the authenticity of the screenshot shared by Owens.
Speaking on The Charlie Kirk Show, Kolvet said he had personally shared the text capture.
“I want to go into it because I’m actually glad the truth is out there,” he said. “That was a text grab, a screen grab, that I had shared with people, so it is authentic.”
