Bangladesh tech teams win multiple honors at Asia Pacific ICT awards
Bangladeshi startups and students earn top placements in Taiwan, underscoring country’s growing visibility in regional innovation contests
DHAKA, Bangladesh (MNTV) — Bangladeshi technology firms and university students secured multiple international honors at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards 2025, reinforcing the country’s expanding footprint in regional innovation and digital competitiveness.
The awards ceremony was held last week in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where Bangladeshi entries placed across professional, student, and startup categories. Two projects — Nyajjomullo, developed by Ixora Solutions Limited, and SafeStep, created by students of RAJUK Uttara Model College — finished as second runners-up in their respective segments.
Another student-led innovation, RADSAFE from the Military Institute of Science and Technology, received a Merit Award, highlighting Bangladesh’s growing presence in applied science and safety-focused digital solutions.
In the startup category, Fatima Ashraf, a student from the Military Institute of Science and Technology and founder of Automated MTBM, won a Silver Prize at the MEGA DAY Startup Pitch hosted by Taiwan’s National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. The award included a cash prize of $5,000, placing her venture among the standout early-stage innovations showcased at the event.
Bangladeshi students also performed strongly in competitive coding events. Mohammad Mehran Islam Mahim of North South University won the APICTA 2025 Code Judge’s Workshop Competition, while Munem Shahriar Islam Samanta from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology secured first runner-up position.
Bangladesh participated in APICTA 2025 with 20 projects and a 46-member delegation, reflecting sustained engagement with the Asia-Pacific region’s premier technology awards platform.
Delegation head Syed Almas Kabir, who also serves on the APICTA Executive Committee, said regular participation allows Bangladesh to benchmark its innovation capacity against international standards rather than focusing solely on medals.
APICTA officials noted that Bangladesh is increasingly being seen as a confident and competitive technology ecosystem, driven by student innovation, startups, and applied digital solutions.
Taiwan’s leadership, meanwhile, described the awards as a critical forum for cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Asia-Pacific technology sector.
