Azerbaijani biochemist wins praise for aging research
Young researcher’s study on centenarians draws international interest at major biochemistry conference
BAKU, Azerbaijan (MNTV) — Gular Zeynalova, a PhD candidate at the Abdulla Garayev Institute of Physiology and lecturer at Baku Basic Medical College No. 2, represented Azerbaijan at the 2nd Conference on Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Stem Cells in Milan, Italy.
Zeynalova presented her paper, “Age Dynamics of Biochemical Indicators During Physiological Aging in Centenarians Living in the Goychay Region of Azerbaijan,” which drew strong interest from scientists attending from the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Denmark, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Finland, Argentina and other countries, she told Trend Life.
Experts praised the relevance and depth of her research, with several professors expressing appreciation for her findings and posing numerous questions during the session. Zeynalova received a special certificate recognizing the scientific value of her presentation.
“In today’s world, the importance of biochemistry is immense,” she said. “It plays a critical role in medicine and healthcare, helping identify the causes of diseases and pathways for treatment.” Her presentation covered key topics including biochemical factors linked to longevity, lipid peroxidation, and the impact of free radicals on premature aging.
Zeynalova holds a biochemistry degree from Baku State University and a Master’s in biochemistry from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She pursued doctoral studies at the Institute of Physiology under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education and completed advanced training at the Department of Biochemistry of the Medical University.
She has presented at multiple international forums and authored several scientific papers, as well as the book Modern Medical Laboratory Diagnostics.
